Security
Last updated: July 2026
Keeping your money and personal information safe is one of our highest priorities. This page explains the steps we take to help protect your account and what you can do to stay secure.
01Protecting your information
We use multiple layers of security to help protect customer information, including:
- Encrypted connections
- Secure infrastructure
- Restricted internal access
- Continuous monitoring
No system can be made completely secure, but we work hard to keep your information protected.
02Identity verification
Some financial services require identity verification. You may be asked to provide:
- National Identification Number (NIN)
- Bank Verification Number (BVN)
- Government-issued identification, where required
This helps prevent fraud, comply with regulations, and protect your account.
03Account security
You can help protect your account by:
- Keeping your phone secure
- Never sharing verification codes
- Keeping your contact information up to date
- Reporting suspicious activity immediately
04Payments and transfers
We may ask you to confirm certain financial actions before they're completed, such as:
- Sending money
- Paying bills
- Buying airtime
- Buying data
These checks help prevent accidental or unauthorized transactions.
05Fraud prevention
We continuously monitor for suspicious activity and may temporarily pause certain actions while unusual activity is reviewed. This helps protect you and the platform.
06Banking partners
Novara is a financial technology company, not a bank. Banking services are currently provided by PalmPay and other licensed financial partners where applicable.
07Reporting security issues
If you notice suspicious activity or believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
If you discover a security issue, we'd appreciate you reporting it responsibly so we can investigate and resolve it.
